The Joy of Covered Buttons

By Cameron

Have you ever tried to pick out buttons and gotten stuck? I know I have. I've put projects on ice for want of the perfect button. If only I had known how easy and fun making covered buttons is!  I whipped up these little guys in just a few minutes.  It's a great way to use up precious scraps, too.

We've started carrying a new type of covered button that doesn't require any tools to make.

Start by cutting out the provided template. Placing the straight line on the fold, cut out your half circle. It doesn't have to be precise.

Center your button top over the fabric. Wrap the fabric around the button. There are small metal teeth to catch and hold the fabric.

Snap the back in place and you're done! Easy as pie and just as sweet.

Covered buttons are great for feminine dresses and tops, but would also be fun as an accent on pants or baby sweater. With shot cottons you can find a match for just about any color! Give them a try next time you need the perfect button.
