Introduction to Quilting

During this four-session class, students will be guided through the entire process of creating a quilt from start to finish while making the beatiful and simple Between the Lines quilt. Student can choose between making a wall hanging or a baby quilt.

No quilting experience is required; however, students should have basic knowledge of how to operate a sewing machine and to be able to sew a straight stitch, as these skills will not be covered in this class.

  • how to thread and operate a sewing machine

    how to sew a (mostly) straight line and maintain a seam allowance

  • maintaining a ¼ inch seam allowance

    preparing and cutting fabric

    techniques for accurate and efficient piecing

Ages 18 and up.

Our classroom is on the second floor and is currently only accessible by stairs. We are working on a solution to make our space accessible to everyone. This class requires a minimum of 3 participants. The class may be subject to cancellation if the minimum enrollment is not achieved.
