Quilt Skills: Mastering Triangles

  • Bolt Fabric Boutique 2904 Northeast Alberta Street Portland, OR, 97211 United States (map)

Two Sundays
February 23rd and March 2nd
10am to 2pm

$180

During this two-session class, students will learn a variety of techniques to create perfect triangle blocks in their quilts. We will cover four of the most common triangle blocks: half square triangles, flying geese, square in a square, and half rectangle triangles, while working on two quilt tops: the Manifest wall hanging and a throw pillow sized star quilt block.

Skills covered included how to create four common triangle blocks (half-square triangles, flying geese, square in a square, and half rectangle triangles), techniques for efficiently cutting and constructing multiple triangle blocks at a time, trimming triangle blocks with accuracy, and matching seams.

The focus of this class is piecing quilt tops and will not cover finishing the quilt (quilt sandwich, quilting, and binding). If you want a step-by-step class on quiltmaking, check out our Intro to Quilting class here!
